1. Change your database prefix

Do not use default prefix of database on the time of installing your wordpress website. it will easy to understand for hackers when you left database table default, and easily hack your site.

for example
deafult prefix is : wp_  replace this with your own prefix like   abc_

 

2. Delete your unused plugin.

Some developers ask you to you should delete unused images because they waste space on your servers. they may pose a security risk, even though the theory seems very specious. However, the theory that unused plugins are a threat to your WordPress security is very true. A hacker may targeting plugins that people purchased because they were popular. update your wordpress website also when new version is available.

3. Always Update your plugin .

Some developers will not updating his/her plugin because of he/she think that site look will change but this may easy for hackers to target your site for hack. so its very needed to use updated plugin and themes regularly.

4. Add captcha in your plugin and for secure login and also 2-3 attempts for your login .

Always use captcha for your login and register this will make your site safer from hackers and automation robots.
use login attempts for block user after three login this is inbuilt facility for wordpress you can use this.

5.Change .htaccess file permission

Always keep .htaccess file permission invisible by outside, it can be more protected, use permission only 705.
This keeps you site protected. htaccess is augenerated by server.

6.Regular backup you site

Always keep automatic backup of your site via backup plugin you can use wordpress backup plugin. make crone job for you full backup database and full files of your website.this will you to restoring your website, if unfortunately you site have hacked.
